Updated: 2 days ago

Christine Collister, renowned for her powerful and ethereal voice, captivating stage presence, and undeniable charm, is back on tour for the first time in four years. Known to enchant audiences around the world, from Glastonbury to Cambridge, and Winnipeg to Port Fairy, Christine is an artist whose live performances have been described as nothing short of extraordinary.

With a career spanning 40 years, Christine’s voice is often described as “personally delivered by God” (The Times), and she is celebrated for her rich vocal style that effortlessly crosses genres—soul, blues, pop, jazz, country, and folk. Q Magazine has hailed her as “one of the finest grown-up vocalists on the planet,” a testament to her genre-defying artistry and her lasting impact on the music scene.

In this special tour, Christine will perform songs from her latest project, Children of the Sea, a collection of nine original songs inspired by the folklore and landscapes of her native Isle of Man. Supported by the Isle of Man Arts Council, Culture Vannin, and Fledgling Records, this project includes a beautiful book of lyrics, stories, and illustrations by Manx artists, making it one of her most personal and inspired works to date. Alongside these new pieces, fans can look forward to Christine’s timeless classics and fan favorites that have become synonymous with her legendary career.

Christine’s journey began on the Isle of Man, where her talent quickly led to a successful UK career in the 1980s, and she soon became a fixture on the national music scene with the theme song for the BBC’s The Life and Loves of a She-Devil. She then rose to further acclaim through collaborations with Clive Gregson and Richard Thompson, cementing her reputation as a transformative and versatile vocalist.

A reviewer from Froots magazine perhaps put it best: “Christine Collister has a killer voice—as full as Dusty Springfield, as blue as Alison Moyet.” Prepare to be captivated by one of music’s great vocalists as she brings her magic to the stage once again.
